Ok,
I lied. I promised I wouldn't return to another James Bond
movie after the last offering, Tomorrow Never Dies. I went
in the hope of a turnaround and I almost got it.
In The World is Not Enough, a madman is hell-bent on holding
the world hostage with a nuclear weapon. Or is it a crazy
oil heiress attempting to sabotage her competition? Or is it
both? Or none? The plot does get a little twisted. There are
the standard chase scenes and the requisite eye candy, but
unfortunately Pierce Brosnan has yet to slip into a likeable
James Bond version in the midst of all this. This movie is
standard action fare and little more. It was better than the
last which felt like you were sitting through a 90 minute
commercial.
