The Wedding Singer |

Now that we are nearing the end of the 90s, it's time to relive the 80s. The Wedding Singer takes an opportunity to make us laugh at the silliest styles, trends, and music of the decade while providing a cute love story. Adam Sandler plays a singer who performs at weddings. Having become somewhat of an expert on the institution, he finds himself left at the altar and disenchanted with the whole idea of marriage. Enter Drew Barrymore who is on the way into a horrible marriage. The two meet, fall in love, and you know the rest. Throughout the movie, 80s references are thrown in for some laughs, but at times pehaps to extreme. The acting is fine. Adam Sandler does a good job of playing the same character he plays in all of his movies. Drew Barrymore is wonderful in her role. See this movie if you thought you were hip in the 80s or most of the references will be lost on you. This is was a fun little movie. No serious thinking required. |
