Rush Hour |

Keep in mind, I'm a huge fan of Jackie Chan. His attempts to gain a larger American audience have met with little success in the past. "Rush Hour" is a step in the right direction. This is the first Jackie Chan movie to come out which is polished in every aspect. This movie will convert those who haven't succombed to the charms of the world's biggest action star. In "Rush Hour" a Honk Kong diplomat living is Los Angeles has is daughter kidnapped by the bad guys. Jackie, a family friend, is summoned from back East to help solve the case. He is paired with an LAPD officer with FBI aspirations, Chris Tucker. The two make an unlikely duo and team up to save the girl and the day. This movie has the right doses of an action movie. There is a little drama, some humor, and some great action scenes. In other Jackie Chan movies, you must tolerate bad acting and mediocre storytelling to see fanastic action scenes. No so here. While there are fewer Chan fighting scenes, they are better integrated into a total package. Go Jackie! |
