What
do you get when you get Steve Martin and Eddie Murphy
together? An attempt to jumpstart their movie careers? Quite
possibly. This movie lacks any substance, but it does have
an intriguing premise which through the performances of
Martin and Murphy, kept me laughing most of the way. Steve Martin plays a B-movie producer down on his luck and searching for the next big project. One of his employees writes a script, and Martin vows to direct it. The only problem is he has to have Hollywood's biggest star, Eddie Murphy's character, play the lead. Since Eddie has his own problems to deal with in the form of a Scientology-like cult and his own paranoia, Steve has a unique solution. He decides to shoot the scenes with Eddie without Eddie ever knowing. This results in many hilarious scenes. A good rental. |
