Big Daddy

I'm not exactly a big fan of Adam Sandler. It seems whenever I see him performing, it's always the same two or three voices/characters/bits he has done since Saturday Night Live. I enjoyed Happy Gilmore, but the rest are forgettable. I borrowed Big Daddy from a friend with very low expectations.

From the smiley face, you can see I was rather impressed. The movie had a simple premise and carried it off well. An underachiever adopts a boy in the hopes it will transform him into a responsible adult in the eyes of his girlfriend. He winds up learning more about himself and his strained relationship with his own father in the process with a lot of laughs along the way. I won't be so quick to judge Adam Sandler's next project.
